Speroway has launched yet another MISH Adventure team northbound towards Mishkeegogamang First Nations reserve. This is the 5th Summer (since 2007) a team has travelled into this community to provide a day-camp experience for First Nations children.
With a team of 12, including two nurses, a teacher, and university students in a variety of fields, the group is well equipped and ready to serve the children of the Mish community. Our mission is to run the best three-week, fun-filled, memorable day camp for these children. Our heart is to shower them with love and acceptance.
Driving to the Far North on this 26-hour journey is George and his right hand man Cyril from Harvest Bible Chapel (Oakville). They are in the Speroway truck that is loaded with game equipment, crafts, pool noodles, and 100 full school back-packs to be given to the children in the community (for school in the Fall).
We will also be followed by Ron Kyle who is bringing a truck of 10 bunk beds constructed by the students of West Credit and Meadowvale high schools. Twenty mattresses and a supply of pillows are also making the trip.
There is much excitement and anticipation for MISH Adventures and the next three weeks; serving and loving this precious community first-hand.
