God’s Artistry in Kenya

This week and next we thought you would enjoy hearing from, Marnie Knight, one of our interns who is serving children in Kenya at the Speroway Nyota project. This will be a series of 2 posts with photos that you won’t want to miss!

God’s Artistry in Kenya
From, Marnie Knight

It’s funny that amongst the poverty and lack of resources, not to mention the daily fight just to survive, the landscape, the warmth and sense of community – the open warmth of the human spirit is alive and overwhelming.

There isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t see the hand of God working miracles in this country. The majority of the people are Christians and their faith and believe in God is staggering!! No matter what daily struggles they have, they never stop smiling and have a warm handshake to welcome or a hug and a genuine greeting!!

The music is fantastic with children singing and dancing, just because they want to and because they are truly joyous and grateful for what little they have – this will never cease to humble me.

I have never seen bluer skies with clouds that make you stop dead in your tracks to stare at the beauty and sunsets and sunrises that take your breath away. For as rugged, and wild as Kenya is, it is truly unlike anything I have ever experienced before and will probably never experience again! I never get tired of looking at the lushness of the crops growing, the greenness of grass or the vibrant colours of the trees and flowers. This is a place where words cannot do it justice. I have never felt more at peace or content than I do right now. I am truly been blessed to have come here to share this experience with you!
